The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau will host the 13th Annual Red River Mardi Gras Bash in downtown Shreveport during the Krewe of Centaur parade. The party starts at 1p.m. Attendees will enjoy a front row experience to the Krewe of Centaur parade – one of the largest Mardi Gras parades in Louisiana. The climate-controlled party tent is located along the riverfront, and tickets to the bash include live entertainment, savory Cajun and Creole food, king cake, a commemorative Mardi Gras bead and t-shirt, and several hands-on experiences.

EVENT Krewe of Centaur Parade, 4:30 p.m., Starts on Clyde Fant Parkway in downtown Shreveport

The Krewe of Centaur is one of the largest parading krewes in Louisiana, and its giant, colorful parade is a must-see. The parade will begin, rain or shine, at 4:30 p.m. on Clyde Fant Parkway in downtown Shreveport. The massive parade proceeds south along Clyde Fant Parkway from downtown Shreveport, turns right onto Shreveport-Barksdale Highway and ends in the Broadmoor neighborhood at East Kings Highway Park (the Duck Pond).

The annual Krewe of Barkus & Meoux pet parade will take place at 2000 Reeves Marine Drive in Bossier City. Bring your pets, children and all your family and friends. Parade day activities, including the judging of registered pets for prizes in categories such as Best Dressed, Best Float, Best Interpretation of Theme and Pet/Owner Lookalike, will begin at 1 p.m. The parade typically rolls at 3 p.m.
